Boomer's Legacy Ride

Last weekend I partook in keep cyclist safe on the highway from Boomer's Legacy..
This ride was emotional and hard to hold back the tears.

This is my second year to be apart of this amazing journey.. The link below is pictures from the ride

http://rimini.weebly.com/2/post/2012/06/boomers-legacy-ride.html

The most emotional part of it all was at the end when we were doing the ceremony.. and this was a banner, with 4 boards attached together.. and all the riders had fallen soldiers on their bikes.. some riders were not able to complete the ride and I was handed one of the fallen.. I can't tell you how suddenly emotional I got..Here in my had was a name not just any name but a name to be placed on a board with all other names of those who would not be coming home.. who would not get to hug a loved one.. who's voice was silenced forever...

As I watch people place the names, some of the riders were personal friends of  the name they were placing.. and that gave it even more of an impact.

I give you the name that I had to place on the board - Cpl. Jamie Murphy
Here is a bit of his story

I did not know him personally, but I am forever grateful for what he and the other fallen did for me and my country.

Also on a side not .. I want to do this ride next year.. if an 88 year old WW2 vet can ride from Comox to Victoria.. what is my excuse?

So looking for people to train with and be apart of this amazing ride.. ANYONE ANYONE..

She is on her way....

It's funny when you start to clean out a computer.. it's the same feeling as going threw a closet full of "stuff" and finding little gems, things that make you smile and remember, or things that make you sad, but still make you smile. Today i'm slowly getting ride of files that aren't needed anymore.. but I always come across pictures of Adele.. and how much she has changed in such a short time

This picture made me smile and feel sad all at the same time.. my mini me is growing and she can't stay mini anymore..

Then again, I would be missing out on what is happening now, and what is to come..
and I don't think I would want that..
She is expanding and soaring in so many ways, from learning about how make robots, and dance like a monkey to pretending to be an astronaut to believe she can be whatever she want.. my job is to stand and encourage and wipe the tears when she falls and stand her back on her feet.. she is on her way oh the places she will go, the people she will meet, and dreams that will soar,  and in all and all I'm proud to say that she will find her way, she is on her way

Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting. So... get on your way.” ~  Dr. Seuss

and it continues

SO here is the work in progress on the tinkerbell blanket. Slow and long process, but again I'm pretty stoked at how this is all turning out.. the black line on the drawing is where I am at now.

Bowl of Yarn = many tangles

So I did some math calculations and it looks like this blanket is going to be about six feet in length.. oh boy
